Tupac Insists He's Not a 'Gangster Rapper' as He Heads to Court in 1993

In 1993, Tupac Shakur found himself in trouble with the law. Inside Edition spoke to him as he attended a New York City court on sex assault charges. When asked if he was a “gangster rapper," Shakur said he was not. He sarcastically thanked the press for the coverage. He was found guilty of first-degree sexual assault in 1995 and served nine months in prison before posting $1.4 million in bail pending an appeal. He always maintained his innocence. He was killed in 1996.
