The Mississippi man known as “the flying preacher” has gone viral after video showed him floating above his congregation over the weekend. Pastor Bartholomew Orr, of Brown Baptist Church in Southaven, has been using the flying apparatus equipment for several years for Christmas services. On Sunday, he made his debut as “the flying preacher” when he decided to give it a try himself. “I just had to get up the nerves to get into the harness,” he told Inside Edition.

Russell Simmons shared his thoughts on the lack of diversity in Hollywood, including the lack of black higher ups in the infrastructure of the industry, which the Def Jam co-founder told us was a problem. He also touched on the recent #OscarsSoWhite controversy that ignited over the lack of diversity at this year's awards show, and Russell told us that he is more outraged by the overall segregation in the industry. Speaking more about the situation, Russell explained that in Hollywood, black comedians are lumped into specific nights of the week like "Chocolate Sunday" to do their routines instead of being integrated with all types of comedians. Moving along, Russell spoke to VladTV about the importance of black entertainers making friends with white higher ups, whom he believes are the big decision makers in the industry. The burning question most hip-hop heads have is: Why did Rick Rubin and Russell Simmons split up? While talking to DJ Vlad, Russell explained that they went on to work on different projects and focused on other artists. As for Simmons ultimately walking away from his position at Def Jam, the mogul says that he built it and gradually started pulling away from his post while juggling his other business ventures, and relied on the people who were smarter than him, who he believed in. In 1988, the Beastie Boys parted ways with Def Jam after releasing their debut album, Licensed to Ill, and Russell Simmons revealed to VladTV that the parting was due to the Beastie Boys not getting along. He explained that they were young at the time, and he added that Rick Rubin thought the rappers were being placated and not being made to work properly. During the conversation Russell also revealed that "(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party!)" wasn't the label's choice for the Beastie Boys' first single, as he explained that the radio took it and made it a huge hit. Last Days of Coney Island is a 2015 American animated short film written, produced, directed and animated by Ralph Bakshi. The story concerns a NYPD detective, the prostitute he alternately loves and arrests, and the seedy characters that haunt the streets of New York City's run-down amusement district. Ralph Bakshi had previously pitched the film to major studios such as Pixar and DreamWorks, but was unable to find anyone who wanted to take on the project. When technology began advancing to the point where Bakshi could begin the project on a lower budget, he decided to take on the project himself and produce it independently. A Kickstarter campaign was launched on February 1, 2013 to complete funding for the first short in the film. On March 3, the film was successfully funded and raised $174,195 from 1,290 backers. The 22-year-old ballet dancer and soccer player who lost her legs in a Bahamas boat explosion is discussing her recovery. Stefanie Schaffer, from Rutland, Vermont, was in the Bahamas with her sister, mom, and stepfather in June. They were on a boat tour to go snorkeling with pigs when the boat exploded. “I just remember the feeling of panic,” she told WVNY. Tourists from another boat bravely waded into the shallow water to help the 10 Americans on board. One died in the blast.
